Is your truest essence hiding?

Our true self can often hide behind the survival mechanisms we have put in place as children…

In a recent client session, we explored the desire to take up space and to be visible and audible. This was the true self-wanting to emerge. It was hidden behind the people-pleaser, the persona or role that had learned to compromise their truth in order to fit in and be loved.

In its highest and integrated essence, the people-pleaser becomes the diplomat, the peacemaker, the empath who knows how to create win-win solutions, because they are aware of other people’s needs. This is the divine feminine principle.

On the other hand, the people-pleaser was compensated by the driven achiever. The one who follows their dreams and desires, no matter what other people think. The one that pushes past the inner knowing to take a rest. The one that needs success and feeds off validation of their achievements.

When integrated, this part becomes the divine masculine essence within. The driven achiever becomes that part that can focus when needed, that has our back and embodies presence, strength, and focus.

All these survival mechanisms serve a higher purpose. When we make peace with them, they provide qualities and that become attributes of our true essence. They have been the training ground for our true self to emerge. All we have to do is integrate those inner rebels (those moody inner children) back into the team of our highest self.
